cDLE® performance results
G2L has recently completed an earn-in equity deal with LithiumBank Resources for its Canadian assets.
Based on the work completed to date, LithiumBank released cDLE® performance results which showed:
- Greater than 98% recovery of lithium from the Boardwalk Project brine.
- The highest purity concentrated lithium solution (eluate) using cDLE® of the 15 technologies tested or assessed to date.
- Greater than 90% reduction of calcium (Ca), sodium (Na), and chlorine (Cl) impurities in the eluate.
- G2L DLE produced lithium eluate concentration of > 3,000 mg/L (3 g/L) Li, which represents:

- Greater than 40-fold increase in lithium concentration from feedstock; and
-
- Greater than 40-fold volume reduction of brine post-DLE processing.
- Reagents used in the G2L DLE processing are approximately a third of the cost of those used in the DLE process that was used in the company’s maiden Boardwalk PEA published in May 2023. The reagents in the existing PEA accounted for 54% of the total operating costs.
- Results are anticipated to be included in an updated Boardwalk PEA, expected in late 2023.
- Pilot Plant testing with G2L cDLE® technology, at a rate of up to 10,000L per day to commence in Q1 2024.

About cDLE® technology
The company’s proprietary cDLE® process has been adapted from extensive experience in continuous ion exchange as it relates to other metal recovery applications in the mining industry. The continuous ion exchange process has been proven on a commercial scale for uranium, tungsten, and gold extraction and at a demonstration scale for nickel, cobalt, and scandium.
Working with a fully engineered and optimised process for Direct Lithium Extraction allows asset owners to move rapidly from bench-top units treating one to two litres per hour, to an automated demonstration plant capable of treating 200 to 500L per hour.
G2L’s cDLE® technology provides the:
- Highest lithium recovery;
- Lowest chemical input cost;
- Highest lithium eluate concentration; and
- Fastest speed to production.
The cDLE® performance attributes allow G2L to work with low lithium concentrations brines that have traditionally been seen as uneconomic. Using lithium-specific ion exchange resins in a continuous countercurrent process has broken that paradigm.
Many brines in Canada, and the US with lithium contents in the 50 to 100 mg/L range are now available for economic extraction using cDLE®.
G2L is looking to partner with other lithium asset owners, including oil and gas companies, to meet the rising global demand for lithium and deliver long-term value.
