Marking a new era of cryogen-free, bench-top HTS solutions, PF‑2G debuts as the company’s second “projected-feld geometry” magnet—and the first in a new series of ultra-compact ReBCO products.
HTS-110, a leading innovator in high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology, today announced the official debut of its PF‑2G projected-field magnet at the APS Global Summit 2025.
While HTS-110 has previously delivered custom ReBCO-based solutions for clients, the PF‑2G stands as the company’s first standardised ReBCO magnet, launching a new series of ultra-compact, cryogen-free systems.
Features of the PF-2G magnet
Drawing <400 W from a single-phase outlet, the very energy-efficient PF‑2G capitalises on the outstanding performance of today’s ReBCO conductor at elevated operating temperatures.
Even as high as the target mid-60 K region, ReBCO wire can generate a multi-tesla field at useful current densities. This capability enables the utilisation of low-power, efficient cryocoolers, providing a yet further benefit: high performance in a very compact package—squarely in the bench-top category.
“PF-2G merges our proven HTS engineering with the advanced performance of ReBCO tapes,” said Dr Donald Pooke, CEO at HTS-110.
“Researchers can now attain stable, high fields from a system that fits on a benchtop without being tethered to a remote compressor, and we’re thrilled to introduce this attractive product at the APS Global Summit 2025.”
The PF-2G will be demonstrated at the summit, and visitors to the HTS-110 booth will be welcome to discuss their application requirements. Complete specifications and pricing can be found at www.hts-110.com/product/projected-feld-hts-magnet.
