Pulsar Helium initiates Jetstream #1 appraisal well drilling at Topaz helium project

Pulsar Helium has announced that drilling the Jetstream #1 appraisal well at the Company’s leading Topaz helium project in Minnesota has commenced, with a spud date of 2 February.

The Jetstream #1 appraisal well is situated approximately 15m from the original discovery well LOD-6. Remarkably, this discovery well hit free gas with a concentration of 10.5% helium, demonstrating the promising resource potential of Pulsar’s Topaz helium project.

Thomas Abraham-James, the President & CEO of Pulsar Helium, emphasised the significance of the development: “The Jetstream #1 appraisal well has been spudded. It is a significant moment for the Company, and I am very proud of the team’s efforts to get here.

“Our objective is to replicate the original discovery of 10.5% helium, conduct extensive down-hole testing, and persist deeper into the ground to determine what else may be down there.

“Our meticulous planning has paid off, and all is going according to schedule. We have also been blessed with glorious weather conditions. We look forward to keeping the market informed with our progress.”

Jetstream #1 appraisal well details

The Jetstream #1 appraisal well will be drilled to a depth of 686m, with a contingency in place to extend it to 762m.

There will be a mass spectrometer onsite to provide gas composition every 100 seconds. Gas samples will be collected when zones of helium gas response are encountered.

After reaching total depth, Baker Hughes will acquire an extensive suite of open-hole wireline logs.

The well will be completed after this wireline data acquisition, and the rig will be released and demobilised.

A comprehensive testing package will be deployed to the Jetstream #1 well, where it will set up and commence a flow testing and pressure build-up programme, gathering data on pressurised gas samples.

Inclusion in Reuters documentary

On the day of drilling initiation, a Reuters film crew visited the Jetstream #1 site to capture footage and conduct interviews for their forthcoming Global Health 2024 documentary series. Additionally, important local stakeholders, including government officials, were present.
