On 1-3 May 2020, EIT Digital will be leading ‘hackers’ to develop data-driven digital solutions for epidemic and pandemic lifecycle management.
The DATA against COVID-19 online DeepHack is open to 15 teams of students, entrepreneurs, start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and corporates. The DeepHack will take place online from 1 to 3 May.
The deadline for applications to EIT Digital’s ‘DATA against COVID-19’ DeepHack is April 27, 2020, 12pm CET.
It is unlikely that COVID-19 is the last pandemic, because of this, better tools, and methods to manage the lifecycle of pandemics is a primary concern of policy makers and industry leaders.
Modern digital technology, like mobile phones, data analytics, AI and social media offer a unique set of tools to analyse data, to model, communicate and influence behaviour in order to help manage pandemic lifecycles.
What is the purpose of the DeepHack?
Participants to the DATA against COVID-19 online DeepHack will use data to develop scalable solutions with potential to alleviate the current global COVID-19 pandemic, help policymakers, health services and industry leaders manage the pandemic lifecycle and prevent future public health crises.
EIT Digital welcomes a variety of solutions in a variety of domains. EIT Digital aims to develop data driven solutions for; alert or monitoring systems using mobile devices, the sharing of information relevant to COVID-19, systematic data analysis for different groups and integration of epidemic and economic data to drive more accurate societal impact analysis.
What prizes are available?
The team with the most successful data-driven solution to pandemic lifestyle management will receive a total of €15,000.
The winning team could also have a chance to take part in a follow-up activity for a period of six months with substantial financial support from EIT Digital to fully develop and deploy their solution.
