The Wearable, Interactive and Mobile Technology Access Centre in Health (WIMTACH) is a research and development centre at Centennial College.
It uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide specialised knowledge, equipment and technology to companies and organisations in the digital health technology sector in Toronto, Canada and beyond.
As one of just 60 Technology Access Centres across Canada, WIMTACH serves as a catalyst for and contributor to the growing ecosystem of digital health innovation by providing services to small to medium-sized businesses to carry out applied research projects.
Through these projects, WIMTACH helps businesses activate their innovative ideas and transform them into commercialised successes – all while supporting the College’s commitment to building powerful pathways to employment, building strategic partnerships with industry leaders to engage more students in paid research opportunities than any other TAC in Canada.
WIMTACH began in April 2015 with the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)’s CCI TAC funding and is one of 60 Technology Access Centres funded by NSERC. Since then, WIMTACH’s record of success has continued to climb.
As the only Technology Access Centre in health in the GTA, WIMTACH’s leadership is far-reaching:

What our research partners say
“Centennial was my first choice [for a project partner] … [working with the students] was as if we were working with engineers with years of industry experience. It was a win-win situation.” — Saeid Samiezadeh, CEO and Co-founder of Ortho Biomed
